I very recently broke up with a close partner of mine due to my unfortunate fading romantic feelings for her. When I revealed it to her, though poignant, she admitted that she had suspected it for a while. And although I never asked how she knew, I knew that for the past few weeks, whenever she looked into my eyes, I could not reciprocate the glimmer that was present in hers. "Glimmer" is not my own perspective of the past few weeks. It's hers.
