Demons may fight but never Win.
Inspired by The Saints of Hampstead Heath
I was a well-behaved person but did some things I regret.
Overall though, I was good, but I did not expect this
when the demon showed up looking for me.
I laid there to rest after a good and plentiful life
always looking at God for answers, never demons
But the Lord saw what was happening and came to talk
As I lay here listening to the debate, not able to talk.
They have been going on for hours
since they started, and a small plant has sprouted.
“Look at the plant, that is why he is mine and not yours!”
“He has committed sins and is perfect in hell,”
“I still love all my children the same, he shall follow me”
As the demon looks down at me as I lay still as ever.
Looking into his eyes on his smokey black feathers.
Looking at the Lord with his crown on
“Fine, you have him, but I want something in return,”
