The Last Shot

If we don't end war, war will end us.

World War II was a war that lasted six gruesome years.

In that short time frame, over fifty million people perished.

Only the dead have seen the end of the war.

Only the dead have been the end of the war.

Yet everyone lost something during war.

People lost their homes.

People lost their families.

People lost their lives.

The world isn't big enough for all of us!

The world isn't big enough for all of us!

So many families ruined

So many lives were destroyed and diminished.

War causes death, destruction, loss, and so so much carnage

"What is absurd and monstrous about war is that men who have no personal quarrel should be trained to murder one another in cold blood."

Death is so common.

Death is part of war

Death is why people hate war

Death is why people can not recover from war

Death is why people mourn for their lost loved ones

War confuses everyone

War starts with simple acts or big acts

War ends so many things

"War... is as much a punishment to the punisher as to the sufferer."

WWII taught us that revenge kills

WWII taught us that innocent people die all the time for zero reason

WWII taught us that there is hate everywhere

Hate can never be thrown out

Hate will never go away

Hate will continue to end lives with or without death

Hate will make sure that people die for no reason

"What is absurd and monstrous about war is that men who have no personal quarrel should be trained to murder one another in cold blood."

How can we as a society be taught to murder someone we have no relation to, Someone who has a family,

Someone who was born into the world with a purpose,

Someone with a family,

Someone with meaning.

War isn't something that should happen.

War shouldn't just split nations

“War, in the end, is always about betrayal, betrayal of the young by the old, of soldiers by politicians, and of idealists by cynics.”

How can we lure innocent people into war with promises of something good coming out of it?

Governments  give promises of money, scholarships, and life after you serve your time

Yet most people who come back are scared for life.

They have seen too many things that are impossible to unsee

They have done something that they thought was impossible

They come back with their minds so twisted and torn

They come back to land on drugs and alcohol.

If we don't end war, war will end us.
