abecedarian for everyone
after the sun has set yet still long
before it is to rise to mark a new day
creased and wrinkled is my shirt
darkened by tears im not so sure are mine
emotions fill my body
flooding my mind
god looks down from
high above observing his creation
including every teary eye and every
jostled soul and every
killer taking the
lives of another
man or woman
never did i ask for this
over and over did i beg for help
prepared to receive nothing but silence because the
queens and kings of this world
rebuke those who request aid
spitting in the face of whoever might dare
tugging my blanket closer to hide
underneath attempting to feel the warmth thats so
very rare anymore
wrestling thoughts that are less
xenial than i remember when i was
young and still filled with
zealousness to wake tomorrow
