Name essay
My name means so many different things to different people but to me there are certain things about it that make it specialMy name comes from the Old Testament book of Genesis. Noah was chosen as the only righteous man of his time. He stood out as a man with character, faith in god, integrity and one who walked with god. God sent a flood to punish the world for their sins. God told Noah to gather his animal and family onto a boat to keep them safe during the flood. Once the flood was over God sent the sign of a rainbow to let Noah know that the earth would never be destroyed again.
I was my dad's first son and one of the reasons he named me Noahthis is because of how important I was to him. This isn't the only reason I was named this though. My dad became very religious in his time playing football at the University of Kentucky.
My name also has a very interesting pronunciation. It starts with a word which my parents tell me a lot, so I guess it fits. Whenever I ask my parents to do something fun there usual response is no. My name sounds very similar to the words nope and no, which causes a lot of confusion. My name also has different spelling in different languages. It is pronounced Noa in French, Noach in Hebrew, Noak in Swedish, and Nuh in Arabic.
My name reminds me a lot of the color green. When I was in 3rd grade at Stone Bank we used to have our names on our desk in a certain color. My color was green and this has just stuck with me ever since.
I also relate my name to the color green because when I was 8, we would go to our grandparents house a lot because my mom had to work and my dad had just recently passed away. I spent a lot of time doing fun activities with my grandparents. One of the activities was building a treehouse. We spent a lot of time on this and when we were finally finished my grandparents had the idea of printing mine and my two siblings' names into the wood. When we started painting my grandparents thought that I should paint my name in green. Spending this time with my grandparent means alot to so that why this small moment is one of the reasons my name reminds me of the color green.
