I knew
At first sight
I knew it was you
I don't know if it was the way you laughed
Or how whenever you smiled
Your cheeks turned a rubescent red hue
From that very moment
I knew
From then our relationship grew
And so did the orchids we planted under that tree
Our special tree reserved for you and me
As the seasons went by
We watched our orchids turn blue
And once again
I knew
We married under our tree
Among the orchid and lily
So lucky was me
To have met such a beautiful soul
So joyful and free
And once again
I knew
But as the days passed
And our relationship was no longer new
You grew sick
And no matter how many times I wished it untrue
As you took your final breaths
I knew
I knew
That I would have to bury you
Where our orchids once grew.
