A Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie
The feeling of a long freezing day,
intriguing you to better it with something warm.
You take out your friendly family recipe,
and get all of the familiar ingredients out.
Still longing for something to warm you.
Mixing all of the dry ingredients together,
you then add a splash of strong vanilla accents.
Smelling the sweet vanilla,
You feel a sense of childhood comfort.
Still longing for something to warm you.
Stirring the delicate chocolate chips,
slowly melting into the dough.
The sweet chocolate exciting yourself to bite into a delightful sense,
imagining the indulgences of a homemade chocolate chip cookie.
Still longing for something to warm you.
The hot air coming out of your preheated oven,
feeling the flow of joy.
Placing the cookies in the oven,
compelling yourself to wait for that first bite.
Still longing for something to warm you.
The aroma of the cookies,
reminding you of when your mom made them.
The brown cookie seeping into your mouth,
Tasting joy and happiness.
Satisfied with warmth after a long, freezing day.
