Police Brutality: Police Researching & Education
Being a police officer is one of the most courageous actions a person can take to protect and serve the community. In 2010 statistics showed that police officers are more likely to use force if not fully educated in Law enforcement. Officer training includes carrying a firearm, taser, baton, and other lethal weapons that can inflict painful harm to someone, which can end up informing a ballistic protest. There are several potential benefits of a police officer having proper education and not having a proper education in Law enforcement.
There are too many mistakes in the police community that society needs to be educated about. In the article,” Reform Policing Education and Training Standards” the author reveals the desperate need for transformation in education.” America remains in critical need of an overhaul to our methods of educating and developing our police officers”(Style 1). This shows that if officers are not fully trained & educated could possibly use more force on people. Another example made in the article is that society needs to research police education “While the statistics can only account for the number of police killings and not explain them, this can critically examine the difference in the pathways to becoming a law enforcement officer globally”(Style 3). This shows that the police community needs desperate help with the lack of education standards. Another example of how this big community lacks support for its officers and enough education in law enforcement. These police officers are not getting enough education to be on the front line.
In conclusion, the police community is lacking the effort to train and educate officers in law enforcement. However, the issue is that too many police officers when not having enough training and education could perform more violence and force. As a result, the police community needs to educate their officers more to resolve this problem. If not resolved could possibly continue more violence and protest.
