Look up at the stars
I taste the salt against my lips as the tears trickle down,
though I try to hold them in I’m afraid that I’ll just drown.
My heart and mind are tethered and constantly at war,
each blow that I take leaves more blood on the floor.
My tears flow red from the force of your strike,
your only concern that I should “cleanse my psyche”.
Is the mirror shattered or is it just me?
Can’t you hear my cries, as I beg on my knees?
No, my scream is silent and oblivious you’ll stay,
soon my heart will begin to decay.
My veins will run dry and my breaths will slow,
you’ll hear the cry of the woeful crows.
I’m sorry I’m not sorry for I couldn’t be saved,
it was a long time coming, I finally caved.
Take solace in my peace and shed not even a tear,
look up at the stars and I’ll always be near.
