“Whatever souls are made of, yours and mine are the same”
Whatever souls are made of, yours and mine are the same
Maybe it’s destiny or fate or maybe the gods are to blame
You see not that you’re a star in the midst the dark
And every time you talk you’ve this enigmatic spark
We can fill a scrapbook of wishes that’ll never come true
Because a dream is enough if I’ll be there with you
We’d sing all our broken melodies in a field of endless joy
And recite our lonely poems by the lake filled with koi
Midnight madness movies or rolling down a hill
Or maybe jumping off a tree just to feel the thrill
Bike rides with the moon when the world is asleep
Or join the mournful willows as together we all weep
Dancing in the rain or screaming into oblivion
Taking stupid risks just to feel alive again
Gazing up at the stars and trying to count them all
Or discussing the truth behind Icarus’ fall
And it might all be a dream but sometimes dreams come true
For in some quantum reality is a possibility of me and you
Maybe it’s destiny or fate or maybe the gods are to blame
But whatever souls are made of, yours and mine are the same.
