Is
My pain
Real.
All my psychiatrist meetings
And therapist appointments
And moments where I thought I couldn’t keep going.
That mental hospital visit in early January.
That three months of recovery in partial hospitalization.
All of these moments together in one year

Doesn’t
Matter
Does
it.
(And all of this will be true unless we believe we can reverse the script)

This piece was originally an assignment for a palindromic poem. I decided I liked it a lot, since it is based in my own experiences. Well, less based and more completely from my experiences. Yes, I struggle with depression. But I am happy with the progress I've made.
