If You Came Back
What would I do if you came back?
For my mind and my heart would be under attack
Like re-watching a movie, the endings always the same,
but I can't hide the fact that we live on in my brain.
I still see your delicate eyes guarding the gate to your soul,
but now where once was my heart, you've replaced with a hole
Rationality says I shouldn't want you around,
I'm afraid the longer you're not, for the longer I drown
There's too many things that I left unsaid,
and I've tried to forget, but you live on in my head
The fear of the past should chase me away, and with my mind so lost, my thoughts have gone gray
I've given you space and I hope that you've grown,
It's been long enough, please come reap what you've sown
I hope you come back so that many just then,
we can rewind & forgive and do it over again.
