why do you take her I say into the night
Please don't take her I whisper to the night
She slips from my grasp like the first cold wind of winter.
You rip me from your warmth, a child-like wonder I can never find, unable to rise to the light.
You wisp away like smoke never to be seen again leaving me to deal with my addiction
We dance in the dark like two figures in the rain but I see you cry when I hold you too tight.
But you always slip like a shadow into the night.
Why do you take her I say to the night?
She has become a faint memory living in the deepest corner of my mind
She has become a goddess of night
You have shackled her with the shadows, a true swirl like that of a panting lost to time
A being of stars and ripples of darkness. You have won her but I will try to fight
I Fight and Fight but I will never possess my love I have truly lost, oh my light
I am so sorry I say to my lady made of midnight
