Significant Sun
I am the Sun I settle in the center
Italian Scientist, Copernicus is my inventor
Casting light is what I do
If I were elsewhere I could not lend light to Neptune
Planets pivot around me like the hands on a clock
I cater daylight those humongous little rocks
Geocentrism was the standard eons ago
But in 200-300 B.C. heliocentrism was the main goal
The geocentric model gifted earth all the attention
I was just an oversized star that didn’t even get an honorable mention
Finally, Copernicus showed Ptolomy up
He proved that I was the heart of the solar system and gave me the king's cup
We could dwell all day on how gravitational pull works and we might not agree
But let's just say that if I wasn’t in the center, you’d be wandering without me

This poem was inspired by my love for space and the history of the heliocentric model.
