Why don't you hold me I say into the night?
Why don't you hold me I say into the night?
The faint warmth of you still on my skin, like the warm summer sun
You feel like happiness, I have known you my entire life but you throw me to the shadows in the night
This feeling of depravity is aching in my bones I wish to be near you to see you smile
Oh your smile brings me to tears when you smile at me I feel like we are dancing in the light
But again I say why is this out of spite
Why don't you hold me I scream into the night?
You have put me under your spell I can’t break try as I might
You have turned me into a beacon for light
But as the light will shine the shadows will bide their time
The night will take me but I will always fight
This is why you held me so tight you felt I could slip from your grasp at any second
Please don't hold me I whisper into the night
