Dear Childhood Stuffed Animal
Dear Childhood Stuffed Animal,
My beloved friend, thank you for our time together.
Through the triumphs and defeats of life.
All of the times I was sick,
Or needed someone by my side.
Once beige, fluffy fur,
Has now gone matted.
Your neck becoming limp,
From the lack of stuffing,
And the eyes that now have scratches.
You may seem old,
From all the tarnish on the surface,
But you are so loved.
All the years we’ve spent together,
I’ve become stronger.
Though I no longer need you by my side,
During long, restless nights,
I can only hope,
You don’t think I have abandoned you.
Your lifetime friend
