We live melodies of smells
Every day of the week
Homemade food at least twice a day
Subzis, Rotis, and Rice
Mama will always try to cook something nice
Mama’s food tastes like rainy days
Tastes like 15 inches of snow on a school day
Tastes like finishing a project
Tastes like “long time, no see!”
Mama’s food tastes like happiness.
But sometimes,
Every Friday, it gets boring.
Sometimes we’ll order from a restaurant
Try something new!
Or, I’ll cook
Some great recipes that I’ve perfected over time.
Sometimes they don’t turn out that great.
But that’s perfectly fine.
