Little Things
Little things
Every day
The same.
I wake up,
My mind fills with dread for the day
But I get ready--
I go to school
The days run together
But there's always something,
Something that makes the day worth it
Today--
It was a package of donuts
I walk into class,
Math.
No one wants to be in that class
But--
I see my best friend
Shes holding a package of donuts
Perfect powdered donuts
Small, but exciting
We laugh,
We talk about our day so far,
I joke about the powder left on her hands and mouth
The donuts don't last too long
But they are the reason behind many laughs
Many smiles
Many dumb conversations
It's the little things
The very little things
That can flip the whole day around
I love the little things

This poem was written about just a random day in math class and about me and my best friend being dumb.
