Let the sun kiss goodbye
To the day
Let it look at us
From below the beautiful bay
Let it take leave
Until we can not see its ray
Let the moon look at us
And 'Good Evening' it shall say
Let the night get darker
So the owl can get its prey
Let your stomach to rumble for dinner
So with your food you can run away
Let your body be all zonked out
So you will not have to play
Let the lights be switched off
So, extra electricity won't cause you to pay
Let the 'Yawn' come out your mouth
So that restfully, in your bed, you shall stay
Let the night sky to titivate itself
So you may feel that it is a spark-filled black tray
Let the stars shine bright
So you could sight them with May
Let your hair be messy
Make it look like hay
Let your body roll itself
Until you're comfortable with your 'sleep-way'
Let your eyes shut down, have forty winks
So that you'd be able to start a brand new day

This poem is a poem I wrote before we were about to have our beauty sleep. I was so half-eyed when I was writing this at that moment that the next morning I was thunderstruck that it turned out marvellous. So, I decided to submit it to Teen Ink.
I dedicate this poem to Dad and Mom. I also dedicate this poem to my late Grandad Rahmath Appa. I also dedicate this poem to Milan uncle who gave me many advices and ideas to live my life. Thank you all. Nevertheless, I also dedicate this poem to all the readers of Teen Ink.
