SOS
There from my lonely island I would cry,
not a sign of life caught my eye,
I had never felt more alone,
than on that rock where the sunlight shone,
the sun rays bragged from the happy sky,
but not a single care given by a passerby,
I waved my arms in hopes of assistance,
but I was merely a spot in the distance,
that is, until you came around,
and you swept me gently off the ground,
you took me from my prison of isolation,
and you brought me to the realization,
that the lonely island where I used to cry,
was just a pitstop to where I now lie,
laying in your arms and bed,
listening to you spill your head,
here in your bed is where I smile,
here in your bed is where I’ll rest a while,
and this may just be another pitstop pending,
but I just can’t bear to see this ending,
so in the meantime just hold me tight,
until the morning takes over the night,
and the man in the moon goes to rest,
hold me tight with your head to my chest,
listen to my heart that beats for you,
as we watch the sky turn blue.

This was written about my ex, but I still think it's nice. I've submitted it to a few competitions in hopes of earning some money to put towards college.
