A boy who lived by water, sought to cross the sea

A tale of lone adventure, this boy adorned in green.

This boy, intrigued as ever, was washed away by thought.

This boy adorned in green, however, his mind would soon be caught.

The line belonged to another boy, this one who had kind eyes.

These two would need each other, to seek the ocean-bound prize.

A boy with deep ambition, a boy with friendly eyes.

A new adventure starts, where the previous one lies.

To sail across the sea, another land would be.

Their homeland to be exact, but their home a colony.

What lay beyond the blue? Good people and good food?

That land might be deceiving, their people savage and crude.

There’s only one way to know! How far will these two go?

The spoils of their adventure, what will they gain to show?

A voyage long and hard, a journey across the sea.

Yet a crew could not compare to this ambitious, brotherly team.

To reach the land afar, a new chapter in this book.

The new chapter begins now, for the friendly one said, “Look!”

A mountain encased a castle, the castle center of a city.

“But what city is this?” he asked; the boy in green took pity.

A mountain bowl would hold the smog that dressed this barren place.

The boys with sunken hearts would stare, and feel a great disgrace.

This place was supposed to be their home, far away from home.

But what purpose do they share when here, to cry and then to roam?

As teardrops fall, an enemy calls — an arrow to the head.

The boy in green would fall and bleed, his life’s purpose was shed.

The boy whose eyes were empty now, would stare up at the devil.

He saw no man, he saw no life, his mind and heart would wrestle.

Their relationship and love was found to far exceed the prize.

But this boy has no life to live, the boy with empty eyes.

No, for this boy should now fall where the previous one lies.
