Wavering Petal
Through the lenses of your eyes, my vision enlightens itself to be clear
In the midnight rain, I cower under your heat yet you protect me far from fear
Today and forever, I yearn for the majesticness of your hands
One wish I ask of you is to embrace me in the dead ends of my plans
Beginning at the dullest of my days, you set stones as to illuminate the way
Falling apart from bickering demons, like a torn doll, you stitch me up brand new
I open my ears to your words as they caressingly leap in faith of wordy wordplay,
I open my arms to you, but you vanish when I despairingly become a loose screw
If only I was made of steel but for now all I can feel is the animosity of your missing presence
Pessimistic, I spiral myself in all directions, ending up at 360, heading down hell’s path
It is this wrong turn that extracts me from my roots for my punishment is an entanglement of penance
As to become one with you or to be paranoid of you, I only know to be indecisive and trod on a warpath
Atoms of my soul, wait to be reassembled into one, forever lost in the void of the sea,
Wandering aimlessly, from the cage of hope, they plead to flee free
In surprise to Your questionable and unfathomable existence, you lift me from my burdens
As opposed to a vicious reptile, you return to tend for the life you created for certain
Without you, I feel hopeless
With you, I live to doubt
Your love never wavers, in hopes to feel my closeness
Therefore in the serenity of my faith, I choose to become devout

Poetry can be interpreted in numerous ways and can be seen in a different light from different perspectives. I enjoy poetry because of the diverse ways one can relate or struggle to understand. Sometimes, poetry is not meant to be understood and is only targeted at people who share similar connections to understanding it. Sometimes, poetry unites a group of strangers, creating a beautiful friendship through the essence of writing. Poetry is creative and original. Poetry simply outlines the basis of the idea and graciously words it into a masterpiece. I am able to express my deepest concerns without the excess details and still showcase the beauty of the message through a seamless poetic rhythm.
