The cultured woman
Kneeling on the hard and cold floor
Your neck bending as you look down
Working hard to create clothing
Long strands of thread
Attached to a large piece of wood
Sitting against your body
As you move each piece of wood to weave
The nonstop movements of your hands
Leaving red blisters from a hard day of work
You chose certain patterns
Keeping your hair long and braided
Embracing your indigenous culture
The sun seeps in, kissing your skin
Keeping it brown
Showing your true colors
