Distant Love
Hair white as a fresh sheet of snow,
There is something I've always wanted to know,
Why must you be so detached and cold,
Even though I know you have a heart of gold
Your love will always linger here,
Your place is always open here,
You have taught me things along the way,
And those are things I still use today
My love for you will sometimes flicker in the dark,
Even if there isn’t a spark,
Mother I know that you aren’t always the best,
But I know you’ll pursue my love like a quest
