Late Night
We fuel the fire,
And step back to admire
The growing pyre.
The ashes fly into the air
My brother adds to the fire with care
As we look upon the sudden flare.
We finally feel at peace
As the fire starts to decrease.
We wait until the cease.
Silence, it’s gone.
We won’t see it upon the dawn.
Satisfied, we retreat with a yawn.
That’s enough for tonight,
Besides, it’s nearly midnight.
Still, it was worth it to see the sight.
