Two Triolets: Somehow & My Sun
Somehow: Two Triolets
I spotted you with your girlfriend today.
Somehow, it didn’t hurt as much this time.
Compared to your bright days, mine are gray.
I spotted you with your girlfriend today.
I guess this is the price I have to pay.
Who knew this journey would be such a climb?
I spotted you with your girlfriend today.
Somehow, it didn’t hurt as much this time.
My Sun: Two Triolets
The last time we spoke, I was moving on.
Today, you finally got to see her.
You were my new sun, she’s my evening yawn.
The last time we spoke, I was moving on.
Since you left, my real love has been withdrawn.
Our time together was a blissful blur.
The last time we spoke, I was moving on.
Today, you finally got to see her.

Trioles are eight-line stanzas, with two rhymes, but repeating the first line as the fourth and seventh lines, and the second line as the eighth. I wanted to create a story but two separate perspectives so the reader can see the parallels, but see more than the two different authors do.
