Second Place
So close to the finish line,
Her breathing starts to pick up,
in tune with her body
She can see the ending from here
Everything she'd worked for is about to go into this moment The smirk unfaltering from her face She knows she's got this
Until she trips and falls causing her to lose her status The crowd watched as the second racer starts to take first
The girl gets up and starts to run to fix her mistake But she is too late as she crosses the finish line, You can see the disappointment in her eyes, always second place
