Loss of the little girl
Goodbye to the sweet girl
With a head of blonde curls
The curls what would sway
As you played on the swings
With small soft hands
That were pure and good
The days that would be spent
Laughing and creating fun
But, one day you woke up
And the filter went away
The filter on the world
That made everything blurry
Blurry in the way that it was only perfect
Unable to see any bad
Now you can see it all clear as day
The pain, hardship and sadness of it all
The tears that now pool
When an A isn’t acheived
When a goal isn’t scored
When a cruel person tries to bring you down
So, these days it seems that it is now
Hello to the tired girl
With a head of fake blonde curls
Who somehow still has
The same kind heart and bright smile
And now I am just stuck wishing
For that filter to be put back on the world

I wrote this poem about how I feel growing up and losing my child like innocence and seeing how the world truly is.
