After hearing these false statements of “I love you” and “I respect you”, I learned that I am NOT here to be lied to. 

After giving and giving and giving all I had for you, I learned that I am NOT here to get nothing in return.

After putting everything aside, including my own happiness, in order to make sure you were happy, I learned that I should NOT stay with someone who drains my happiness for his own. 

After listening and being open to your opinion during disagreement, I learned that I am NOT going to expect anything less than the same. 

After realizing that I was pulled away from my people because of you, I learned that I am NOT here to let you manipulate me into leaving my friends and family just so you can have me 24/7.  

After putting your problems before my own, I learned that I should NOT help you with your problems unless you put effort into helping me with mine. 

After you put me down again and again, I learned that I will NOT hesitate to get back up.

Even though I chose to date someone like you, I will NOT let that be something I regret, but something I will remember as an experience I don’t want in future relationships. 

As much as I loved you, I learned that I am NOT going to allow myself to love someone who lies about loving me back.

You showed me some qualities I like in a partner but most of all you showed me what I do NOT want in my future relationships.  

Thank you for the life lessons you taught me.
