The Moon Hmong Legend
There’s a known legend my people tell that says you should never point at the Moon because the Moon will think that you're mocking him and he will cut your ear. The Moon sees all the people that come out and give the Sun attention and he’s so sad and hurt that he isn’t given the same attention as the Sun. When we point at the moon the Moon is so hurt because he is so used to being ignored that he assumes we must be mocking him. He feels the need to hurt us back and by doing so he cuts our ear. I mocked the moon once and he indeed did cut my ear. I feel like some people are like the moon. Maybe if they were given more attention they wouldn’t feel the need to hurt someone because they hurt so much inside. Maybe if I gave them more attention they wouldn’t have had to hurt me either. And maybe if you gave me more attention I wouldn’t have the need to hurt you too...but I could never hurt you. <3

I remember at a young age my parents would tell me about the Moon Hmong Legend and they stated that if I were to point at the moon it would cut off my ear.
