A soldier's daughter
When I would fall, you'd say "get up",
like a little soldier, you made me tough.
If I'd cry late at night,
you'd tell me "good night", then tuck me in tight.
You checked the closet and under my bed,
you reassured me, then kissed my head.
My eyes would shut and I'd drift away,
I dreamed of you Dad, saving the day.
You're always there for me through thick and thin,
from when you're gone, 'til you're home again.
You've missed birthdays, many holidays,
and the end of my reign as "brace-face".
It's been so long you've been away.
i worry about you, and pray everyday.
If I were to lose you in this war,
I couldn't go on, you're My hero and more.
Even over seas and across the world,
I love you Dad, love your little girl.
