It's Just a Phase
You're like the moon
I get you in phases
Somedays I have all of you;
Somedays you'll only give me a glimpse of you.
And on my darkest days, I don't have any of you.
My life is like a rollercoaster; emotionally, mentally, and physically.
One minute I'm at the very top,
Others, I'm at rock-bottom.
When I was nine, I so badly wanted people to see me as the real, true me; not just as your
Average fourth grader, but as the only out and proud bisexual fourth grader in the entire class.
But I was not ready for the hate and the reality of coming out of the closet.
So I waited four years, and when I first came out to my best friend, she stood there and looked
At me like I was an alien from outer space. Then, she said, "Oh, don't worry Aja.
It's just a phase." Me and that girl are no longer friends. Turns out, she had a major crush on me
And was too embarrassed to say anything. But that was no excuse for her to say what she said.
Then, I just let loose, and soon, everyone in my eighth grade class knew. Even my boyfriend
At the time knew, and he was completely suppotive and accepting; he understood, because he
Too, was bisexual.
