September Sun
Dry grass and hot september sun
This is where her journey begun
The house on the prairie shed a light
One that was prominent through the night
She longed for a voice
A bird chirp or a distant noise
Nothing but the wind had touched her
Occasionally the brush of the grass’s fur
She left a place she’d call home
For too long now she’s been alone
Colors begin to faint away
She buries her hopes in new dismay
All the memories are in the past
People who were meant to last
It's a new decade she’s living in
Fate can’t seem to forget her sins
