I will see it once more
I promised in my head
From ceiling to floor
I will lay in my bed.
I promised in my head
Climbing the flights of stairs,
I lay in the bed
Releasing the sound of a thousand cares.
Climbing the flights of stairs
Carpeted and cramped
I hear the sound of a thousand cares
Lit up and lamped.
Carpeted and cramped
I sit in it and cry
Lit up and lamped
Obvious to every eye.
I sit and cry
No more ceiling or floor
Obvious to every eye
I want to see it once more

Last year I lost my home to a wildfire, along with everything inside. I wrote this pantoum to express my feelings about losing it and moving around constantly as a result of the loss.
