The Lover
Silent stars decorate above, diffused into the light, French air, with a hint of sweet pastries underlying the scent.
Tossing long chocolatey hair into teasing tangled knots, a light breeze dances around every corner.
As I walk past the home loved market, long, lost memories threaten to resurface, to drag me back.
Right. Left. Straight. Turn. Stop. Here speaks the quaint monastery where I met you.
Running for the radiant Saint-Paul de Mausole, I didn’t see the reprimanding slick spot of the walk.
You caught me, as I fell.
Now I don’t fall, and you don’t catch me. I resume.
Insignificant to the world, indestructible to my heart, you taught me there is beauty in the night.
Gathering my bearings, I hike Alphilles, gullible moon guiding to the grave, stars tainting the sky.
How joyous the heavens above cry, your warmth gracing their time, as Crystal tears streak along by.
Tonight my love, I say goodbye, my lover, my starry night sky.
