National Park Vacation

The temperature shifts

Shifts to icy winter

Winter months call for travel

Travel to the National Parks

Parks that display the beauty of this earth.

Earth crashes together to make the Rockies

Rockies covered in the snows of Christmas

Snows of Christmas carries the travelers on

On to the west of the Arches of Utah.

The Arches of Utah provide a scene

A scene of tranquility and peace

Peace to the mind and body

Mind and body that travel on to see

On to see the Sun Belt and other majesties.

Majesties of the Grand Canyon everywhere

Everywhere the finger of God traces a path

Traces a path of river carving rock and stone

Rock and stone against the orange sunset

The orange sunset guides me home.

Home is to the east

To the east I must go

I must go through the Painted Desert

The Painted Desert with hills colored gold.

Gold is in the west behind me

Behind me lies the trip of a lifetime

A lifetime longing to return to the Parks

The Parks are what I wish to see again

To see again the natural beauty

Beauty created by God's hands

Hands that call me to travel.
