My Life
You may write me down in history
As the kid who never gave up
The kid who started from nothing
Who got bad grades
Always got in trouble
Parents always mad at me
Being told I was going to be the one that wasn’t going to do anything with their life
To becoming the kid who is a know it all
The kid who gets good grades
Has overturned their parent’s thoughts about them
Has become a better child
Able to prove their parents wrong
Unable to have anything to stop me
I am now the kid who is no longer clenched in the fists of depression
Wondering why no one likes me
Wondering how to stop being annoying
Sometimes I didn’t know how to feel
I’d do anything for acceptance
Buy your food, do your homework
But no, I was burdened by the fact that I was being used.
I sat in my room where I felt alone
Used, useless, this was my lowest point
Then there was a light at the end of the tunnel
It was a train I must run
The train was reality
I realized that all these things shouldn’t hold me back from what I want
You don’t go into history books for what you did wrong
But for what you accomplished
So I changed, I matured, and life moved on
So may I be remembered as the comeback kid
You may write me down in history as the kid who never stopped
