Unforgettable Puppy
The day we got you I was so excited
So little and cute, we were so delighted
You were a little sick but we got you better
Your first birthday past and you were still a little under the weather
Then your second birthday passed and you were doing exceptionally
You loved us so much you even told us with your stuffed animal
Your third birthday passed and there was a tumor on your knee
The vet said it was a skin tag but I did not flee
I knew something was wrong
You got worse and were not as strong
You were still the sweetest dog
And now your tumor was like a frog
Jumping all over your body and spreading
You had surgery the day before thanksgiving and just stayed in your bedding
The surgery did not help you
You were getting worse and the tumors only grew
March twenty-first I went to school
I told you I would see you later while you were by the stool
Normally I did not say that but it was reassuring to me
My sister picked me up which was unlikely
I knew something was wrong as soon as I saw her
Marley was put down, this did not come as a shocker
I had to stay strong because I did not want my family to see me fall apart
Goodbye my angel you will always be in my heart
