Staring in the mirror
I wonder
Who is that girl looking back at me?
She looks hurt and sad
Her tears are corrosive eating at her once beautiful face.
She cannot speak, her tongue is tied in knots of lies
I can see through her, she's empty
What happened to the smile on her face, that lit up the world
The confidence and love that filled her eyes
Instead there is fear
All she wishes for is to erase the scars, the hurt and the memories.
But she knows they are now apart of her reminding her everyday of her past.
Now a year goes by
I stare in the mirror again
There is the same girl
But this time I see confidence
She smiles and says "Everything is going to be ok"
she is so positive
Her beautiful face is as radiant as the sun
Her scars have healed as well as her heart
She has accepted her past and is ready to move on
Nothing will bring her down
