A Modern Nativity
A poor woman is about to give birth,
Worried it may be her last moments on Earth.
Without access to health care,
The woman must risk her welfare.
Similarly, in the Nativity,
Mary’s childbirth was very risky.
Mary gave birth in a manger,
In fear of the common danger
That many poor women fear
Because there is no health care near.
