Goodbye
Little Suzie stares out the window
Watching and waiting
To see the car pull away
Off her daddy does, promising to come home
Little Suzie stares out the window
Waiting for the mail to come
To see her daddy’s letter arrive
He writes how he loves her and promises to come home
Little Suzie stares out the window
Waiting for her daddy to come home
To say how she missed him so
The doorbell rings and Little Suzie sees two men in green
Little Suzie no longer stares out the window
No longer waiting and watching
To never see the car pull up
And never to see her daddy come home
