1. In the distance

A tree waves with joy

But as you grow near

You see it’s not made of wood

2. But metal, cold and lifeless

Covered in rust

But, a quick oil could

Bring it back to glory

3. Standing tall

Like a stretched wisp

Pulsing away into

Quiet obscurity

4. We walk down an endless hallway

Red signs blink “exit this way”

We laugh at them until they cry

Tears of woeful joy

5. A damn fine

Brick wall

6. The soft surf slips

Slowly onto the shore

Silently staring

Waiting for the Shoreman’s tale

7. An invisible hand reaches

Off the cliff face

Unknown to all

Ready to catch the falling

8.  People, scrambling for their lives

Away from the endless flames

That reach over rivers

9. The man clasps her hand

The man feels her squeeze harder

The man looks over to find her smiling

They continue through the graveyard

10. Jack followed Jill, went up the hill

To fetch a pail of water

Jack looked distressed, his heart a mess

And Jill left none the wiser
