"Thanks man, that's nice"

Quickly, yet quietly, the students worked

The students worked and worked all day long

All day long they worked tirelessly

They worked tirelessly for the grade

For the grade was important until noises disturbed them

Noises disturbed them, making the students lookup

The students look up at the loud bang, their gaze at the door

At the door, stood an elf staring back at them

Back at them was an elf staring through bright eyes

Through bright eyes, the students blinked in amazement

Blinked in amazement, so did the teacher as the students gasped

As the students gasped, the elf stepped into the room

Into the room, the elf went and up to the board

To the board, the elf went as the students watched in awe

Watched in awe as the elf turned to face them

To face them was hard, for the elf was short, but filled with determination

Filled with determination, the elf spoke:

The elf spoke calmly, “No one will get the grade…”

Get the grade… “Getting the grade is important.” They pointed out

They pointed out false facts

Out the false facts came for the elf to prove wrong

To prove wrong is easy.

“Wrong is easy to believe.”

Easy to believe anything when wrapped with riddles.

Wrapped with riddles was the elf’s words,

The elf’s words were listened to carefully, “Once a girl…”

“Once a girl had wonderful friends.”

Had wonderful friends,” The elf repeated, “But grades got in the way.”

“In the way of getting her to her wonderful friends.”

“Her wonderful friends tried to get to her,”

“Get to her… get to her… but only the grades got to her.”

“Got to her heart”

“To her heart, the grades went and flushed out the friends.”

“Out the friends went as they carried her happiness with them,”

“Happiness with them, but not with her.”

“Not with her.  Not in her heart.  Loneliness joined the grades.”

“Joined the grades along with the darkness.”

“With the darkness, she was caged.”

“She was caged with bad things, horrible, horrible things.”

“Horrible, horrible things, so horrible that their weight…”

“That their weight broke her.”
