Hollow Shell
Like a candy for Easter,
Or a fallen tree-limb,
Promising on the outside,
Yet hollow within.
Like an empty box,
Wrapped in gold.
Getting your Hope's up,
Just to be welcomed to the gallows
I'm empty, hollow, a shell of a girl.
Easily mistaken for someone who can
Stop the swirl.
I'm useless to you, and to me,
Im trapped in a body, craving to be free.
Inside I feel lost,
Wandering with no home,
Yet for some reason,
Others ask me for help from their hole.
A shadow, I wish
Yet I'm thrust into the light,
And must act alright,
And hope for the few moments,
When for once,
I'm not hopeless.
