Feather, feather
Drifting on the breeze,
Could you life me up
And take me with you, please?

Fly me away
To a quiet, windy place,
As we tumble and careen,
You set our pace.

Show me rolling hills,
Thick with trees, so green!
And all the mossy stones
In the spaces between.

Follow the blue rolling lines
Of babbling brooks and streams,
Bounding, prancing, and romancing,
As they carry my dreams.

Take me high above the earth
Where time stands still,
And the hush of the rush of the wind
Bring my heart such a thrill.

But now carry me home
To the place I know best,
So I can truly say goodbye
As I prepare to leave the nest.
