Strong Men Create Good Times

Good Times Create Weak Men

Weak Men Create Hard Times

As time flies by...

It's obvious to the observer's eye

That we would not be living in this country-

If so many men had not died 

Colonialism had ended 

We had even been out of debt

Was it really so long ago

That we've now been forced to forget

We prospered off the backs of black men

The South's economy was booming back then

We all remember, way back when

Minorities were not roosters-but were hens

The country was shattered 

600 thousand men lost

And we're left to ponder

Why did it take so much cost?

But wait, there's nothing to fear

The Industrial Age was here 

No more pain, no more tears 

And we could all celebrate with a beer

But then came the Depression

The economy was in recession

Unable to buy concessions

Consumers left under Oppression

Followed by this, the World Wars came

Horrible men, rose to fame

So many people, were left so lame

The world would never, ever, be the same.

But as we know; wars fix economies 

And America evolved into a great monopoly

Good times returned, thank God, finally

We stopped handling ourselves, ever so sloppily

The Communists arose

And we became united

But this union broke

As deaths in Vietnam had been sighted 

African Americans had gained rights 

But despite their long fight

Three score after this war

Those Americans still face abhor 

At the turn of the century

Our country had long grown out its mane

When Al - Qaeda made history -

And targeted buildings with a plane

We called for our troops 

We had rallied again 

Again we were prosperous 

Counting up our Benjamins

And this had held true

We would never be shunned

But had we been fools?

To get into another recession 

Hard Times create Strong Men
