Paris
I’ve always wanted to go to Paris…
The city of love,
The city of lights,
The city of Sunday morning coffee in Parisian cafes
I’ve always wanted to stroll down the Champs Élysée,
Shopping bags in hand,
Filled to the brim with the trendiest fashions
Straight off the runway
I’ve always wanted to walk through the Louvre,
Admiring every masterpiece
Hanging on the walls
Whispering their secrets
I’ve always wanted to see the Cathedral of Notre Dame,
To witness the architecture
Having withstood
The hands of time
I’ve always wanted to witness the Eiffel Tower,
In broad daylight
And shimmering under the stars
Lit for the world to see
There’s a reason Paris is called
The city of love,
The city of lights,
The city of Sunday morning coffee.

Since I was a little girl, Paris has always been somewhere I've wanted to visit. This poem describes the want I've always had to go there.
