Jetskiing

The sky is empty of clouds,

sun is beating on my skin,

wind thrusts around my clothes,

as I march to the lake.

My feet touch the dock.

it’s right in front of me.

The beast is waiting,

to go out on the open waters.

I put on the baggy life jacket,

hop in the water,

and mount the machine.

The key glides into the slot,

the button goes down,

and the beast roars.

I head out towards the clear waters,

taking it slow so I don’t create wake.

When the bouy is in my past,

I gun it.

Hitting the high speeds.

40 mph,

50 mph,

60 mph.

The wind blows back with great force.

While doing some crazy stunts,

It starts to tilt.

I fall in,

Glad to be having a good time.

This piece is about the good ol' days that I spent during my summer at my cousins cabin. It reminds me of those times and all of the fun activities we would do during those summers.
