The Morning Sun
When the Night dies away
Slowly withdrawing
Allowing the light
To come back
The Morning Sun
A ray of streaking fiery color
Arcs across the dark blue sky
A violet line thickens on the horizon
The clouds reflecting the bright light
Of the sun not yet seen
The Morning Sun
A spray of colors refracted against the atmosphere
Glorious golden rays of brilliant light
Arching overhead
Showering the waking world
With bits of
Deep reds,
Bright yellows,
and
Vivid violets
The Morning Sun
Rising up
Over the horizon
Spreading what
Is so valuable to
Us all
The Morning Sun
Shining brightly
Rising above
The fluffy
Light gray clouds
The Morning Sun
For all to see
Yet few do
The Mourning Sun
Casting shadows
Across the landscape
The Mourning Sun
An angry red eye
Staring down
Upon us all
The Mourning Sun
Arms of purple
Stretch across
The dark horizon
The Mourning Sun
