School is like home. Not because it's comfortable, but because
we're here seven hours a day, five days a week, and nine months a year
Seeing your fellow students more than your own siblings
sometimes bothers me
Students walking through halls like schools of fish
just trying to get by
Using your mind all day in complex ways
Lessons, assignments, tests, exams
Hours on hours
Headaches, tired, pain
Resting your head on your hand to hold it up
So close to falling asleep
Staring at the clock as minutes go by
waiting till 3 o’clock
Can’t even stop daydreaming of summer
Feeling like you don’t have any freedom at this big building
High school is all apart of the process
Go to high school then go to college then work and finally retire to grow old
Sometimes I think to myself, is it worth it
But I push those thoughts to the side
Because I know that to become a productive part of society
We go to school
I keep that beautiful house in mind
All those fun trips to tropical countries
We learn and grow as people
Here
Talk talk talk
I don’t like to talk to these strangers
But socializing helps us
We need it for the future
School teaches us to strive for a bright future
Teaches us to work towards our goals
Teaches us independence
Teaches us words have power
Teaches us not to give up
Teaches us to do hard work because you can’t get anywhere
Without working hard
Even how much I absolutely hate school at times
School teaches us important values that we don’t learn anywhere else
